Performance Scores

Know how good that race really was

Your time tells you how fast you swam. Your performance score tells you how well each part of the race went. We compare your race with benchmark ranges for the event and give it one score out of 100, with dive, turn and split scores underneath.

Illustrative example

Three scores, one picture

The overall score is built from three parts of the race, so a single number never hides where the time went.

Dive
Your start, flight and underwater out to 15m. How well you get off the block and into the race.
Turns
Into the wall, off the wall and out to 15m. How much speed you carry through every turn.
Splits
Your lap times compared with benchmark splits. How well you paced the race from start to finish.

Read it at a glance

Every score comes with a rating, so you don't need to know the numbers to know where you stand.

  • Exceptional

A standout part of your race.

  • Good

Strong, with a little room to grow.

  • Average

In line with the benchmark for this event.

  • Needs Improvement

The clearest place to find time.

How to use your scores

  • Start with the lowest of the three scores. It's usually the quickest place to find time.
  • Compare the same score across meets to see whether a change in training is showing up on race day.
  • Talk it through with your coach and use it alongside your footage.
Early access

Aquaseer benchmarking is in early access. We are still collecting and reviewing race data, so scores, benchmark ranges, and rating labels may change as the dataset grows.

Treat these scores as a guide, not a definitive assessment. Use them alongside race footage, training history, how the swim felt, and advice from a qualified coach.
